Food
From skin and coat health, to digestive health, to overall behavioral and mood, you would be surprised how much of that starts with the right diet. Our feline companions can’t tell us directly what their needs are so as responsible and loving caregivers it us up to us to pay attention to what our cats behaviors and bodies are telling us and do the right research to ensure only the best dietary solutions for out pets. Now you can purchase the right food, right here, and we will help you with any transitions.
Wellness Starts With a Balanced Diet
All cats, wild and domestic, big and small are obligate carnivores. This means that all of a cat’s nutrition is derived from meat. Cats are not capable of deriving nutrition from plant based products, so why buy food with anything but meat? We recommend and feed our personal feline family only raw food from Texas Tripe. Specifically we recommend an 80-10-10 prey model which incorporates 80% muscle meat, 10% editable bone product, and 10% secreting organ product. This simulates what a cat would derive from natural hunting and provides the vital nutrition they need. Why second guess nature? Ask us about Texas Tripe and a raw diet at your next appointment.
Nature Knows Best
Sometimes a raw diet is not feasible, and we get that. That does not mean you compromise on just any food. We now stock kibble and wet food that we stand behind, because when we have situations where raw is not a viable option, these are the brands that we use. And it’s not just a matter of brand, we only stock flavor profiles we believe provide the best path to nutritional success. Ask us about Fromm Four Star Food at your next appointment and buy it in store!
Brands We Trust. Brands We Use.
Treats Can be Healthy Too. Promise.
While we always say treats should used in moderation and in specific circumstances, that does not mean that they should not be healthy. For those special times, we recommend freeze dried treats because, well, it’s meat. Not only is it meat, it is easy to store and it retains its flavor and over 97% of it’s nutrients. But we don’t settle for just any freeze dried treat, ask us about our recommendations and in-store selection.
Stop feeding your cat seafood. Cats descend from desert climates, meaning there is little water so fish and other seafood were never meant to be part of their diet. The oils in fish and seafood can cause earwax buildup, coat dander and waxy buildup on the claws. Your cat can also be allergic, and some fish contain toxic enzymes that can be detrimental to your cats health.
While some of the products we may recommend contain fish or seafood-like flavoring they are not derived from actual seafood.
